This thing is gorgeous This was my first buy from KOA a while ago and it is still one of my favorites. The handle fits the hand well and comfortably, I got the sharpening service and the edge was sharp, the sheath is well made. The biggest thing that I like about this piece is that the etching on the blade is absolutely beautiful, this is also slightly a problem. Because the blade is so nice, I don’t want to use it for anything. I haven’t done any test cuts with the blade or anything like that. I love this thing but I cannot say for the strength of the construction, it feels solid in hand but I haven’t tested it. Another problem that I have with it is the leather belt loop. It is useless. It’s not positioned on the sheath at the balance point so the knife doesn’t hang vertically on one’s hip. I had to buy another dirk frog from KOA to actually be able to wear and carry this piece. In my opinion it is a lovely show piece that is a bit expensive, it may have a function as a cutting or work blade but I won’t risk damaging my beautiful blade to find out. As always the KOA staff was super helpful and the shipping was fast.
