Windlass – English Cutlass

(1 customer review)

$169.95

Carried during the 1600s and 1700s, this type sword was also called a hanger. (The term cutlass wasnt used as an exclusive term for the sailors fighting sword until the 1800s.) It was frequently used by officers as a close quarters battle weapon because of its compact dimensions. This replica has a tough, tempered high carbon steel blade and a solid brass heart shaped guard characteristic of the period. Includes a leather scabbard with brass throat and tip.

English cutlass Great sword, and well built. Has a nice balance and good handling but not a sword for large hands. Grip is very small, good for small hands really if bigger it will hurt your hand. Ordered it sharpened and it holds an edge descently, all in all great sword all together.
