This large fighting Bowie and its companion Utility Dagger are both forged with thick-spined blades of 5160 high carbon steel. The blades are differentially hardened to possess a hard edge of 58-60 HRC, a body of 45-46 HRC and a spine of 22-25 HRC – this composite of hardness gives the blade a sharp and hard edge and a softer, non-brittle body resistant to shocks. The grips of these daggers are formed from two halves of carved and highly polished horn that is solidly riveted to thick tangs. Pre-drilled holes in the pommels accommodate your own lanyards.

The sheath is crafted from stitched buffalo leather and holds both daggers. It is fitted with a pair of buttoned retaining straps for both and a belt loop for wear.

    1. Joseph M.

Big,heavy blade Typical for knives made by hand in this part of the world-not perfectly finished or fit, but well made and suitable for heavy duty usage. If you are handy, this combo will clean up nicely. Fairly sharp as delivered, well heat treated and tempered, sharpens up to a razor edge without significant effort. Sheath is flimsy but adequate. Lovely cleaver and bushcraft secondary.

    2. Chris (verified owner)

Bigger than it looks, even the small knife fills my hand. Solid full tang blade with ground welds on the rear of the blade to the guard and a welded and ground pommel. Fit is a little rough on the guard around the blade, and you can feel the edges of the pommel on the handle which should clean up pretty easy, but nothing too sharp. The sheath itself fits the blades well and is made of good cow leather but the clasps / retainer straps were awful as they seem to be hastily constructed from buffalo leather and poorly fit. One snap was falty from poor installation and both were about 1/2″ too long making them want to snag on everything and pop open. This is pretty common with the “Kukri House” sheaths, but considering the rest of the sheath and knife is good it’s a bit disappointing to have to mod it out of the box, but all things considered it isn’t worth boxing it up over.

Totally unimpressed for the price. fit and finish was so bad, that if you paid $20.00 you would feel like you got ripped off. The handle even cut me the first time I pulled it out of the sheath. I had to pay a local smith $148.09 just to make it usable. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
